Mika Brzezinski Cracks Up at Fox News Coverage of Trump’s Great American State Fair

Mika Brzezinski had a good laugh over crowd sizes at the Donald Trump-backed Great American State Fair event. The 16-day event began on June 25 and concludes on July 10 in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

While Trump has been bragging about attendance at the Great American State Fair, turnout has been less than stellar. “President Trump has been touting crowd size at the American State Fair, claiming at least 45,000 people attended his speech kicking off America’s 250th anniversary festivities in Washington D.C.,” Brzezinski said on Morning Joe. “But reports from the ground tell a different story.”

She quoted and NBC News report that said, “Based estimates from our team on the ground, nowhere near 45,000 people were present,” and a Washington Post report that said, “The crowd thinly covered an area, about the length of the National Museum of American History, smaller than some summer outdoor movie screenings.”

Brzezinski then mocked Fox News for “insisting that there were more people attending the event than met the eye.” She covered her face and laughed over that clip. “Ouch. OK,” she said, pointing out that the field at the event, which was in the background of the Fox News report, was completely empty.

She also shared a sarcastic tweet from Jonah Goldberg that said, “If only [Fox News] had employees who knew how to operate cameras that could capture these images he describes.” Brzezinski accused the network of “gaslighting” its viewers about the crowd size.

Several artists, including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, and The Commodores, backed out of performing at the State Fair after learning of its skew toward one political party.

Of his first appearance at the fair, Trump claimed on Truth Social, “The Crowd was incredible last night, packed to the brim — At least 45,000 people were there, with a huge Television and online audience. I wish we were able to have an even larger area, which we will be able to do on July 4th when I’ll be speaking again. The airplane flyovers and music were fantastic. Everybody stayed right until the end of my Speech because they loved hearing about a truly successful America.”
