Could EJ’s downfall be around the corner?
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-27-26 are unusually cryptic, but it looks like EJ’s lies and manipulations might start to unravel.
Of course, this is EJ DiMera, who has an unusual talent for slithering out of trouble, so I can’t get too excited about the comeuppance he so strongly deserves, but it does seem like he’s not as on top of things as he likes to think.

EJ Deserves What He Might Get And Then Some
EJ is supposed to be a love-to-hate type of villain, but he’s crossed way too many lines, especially recently.
The way he calmly destroyed Holly’s reputation and hoped she’d be sent to rehab for a non-existent drug addiction was a step too far, especially since it’s coupled with pressuring Johnny to keep his mouth shut.
Lately, EJ has been making everyone in Salem root for his downfall, including the people he claims to love most, so the complete unraveling of his plans is more than called for.
His downfall, if it really happens, will begin with Susan’s visit.

I like Susan in small doses — too much of her is never a good thing, but her determination to not allow EJ to become Stefano 2.0 is one of her best qualities, and I always enjoy it when she confronts her wayward son.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-27-26 promise exactly that.
Susan tells EJ that he is becoming more and more like Stefano, and she definitely does not approve.
It would be great if she went a bit beyond that and actually put a stop to this scheme to make it appear that Holly is using drugs.
There are a million problems with that storyline, and it doesn’t do anything for me but stress me out — not the way I want to feel after watching my favorite soap!

It’s especially frustrating that the only people who seem to be using their brains are Xander and Johnny.
Xander is the Kiriakis version of EJ and cares more about sticking it to his rival than about Holly’s actual well-being — if EJ weren’t involved, he likely would assume Sarah knows what she’s talking about and not believe Holly at all, despite there being zero evidence of drug use.
But Johnny is the one I’m extremely disappointed in.
Johnny knows that it’s affecting Holly’s mental health to be falsely accused like this, and initially went in with guns blazing to convince EJ to cut it out — only to agree to help him cover up what he did to her.
This is after Johnny already agreed to break the law by sneaking into Sarah’s office and placing the book.

Johnny told EJ that any illegal stuff would mean that Johnny would walk away from the company and from their relationship forever, but it isn’t happening so far. Instead, he’s getting more and more entangled in EJ’s web — all while lying to Chanel while trying to support her through her cancer recovery.
He, too, needs to face major consequences when all of this is done.
Trying to play both sides is only turning him into a weak, watered-down version of his father, which is not who he has ever been or what he promised Chanel.
Are you disappointed by Johnny’s choices in this storyline?

Fortunately, the Lie About Holly Might Be Unraveled Soon
One bright spot is that the Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-27-26 suggest that the adults will probably figure out that Holly isn’t using drugs after all.

After Xander shares his theory with Sarah and Brady, they likely will realize that Holly has been sober this whole time.
They should have realized it before, considering that Holly didn’t pack the bag and the idea of her being able to score drugs while in a hospital bed says more about the hospital’s lax monitoring of patients than about her. But better late than never, I suppose.
Anyway, Xander figured out this past Friday that he left the bag unattended at the nurse’s station while he walked off with Sarah to show her pictures of their daughter, so he likely has figured out how the pills got in that bag.
Once he shares that theory, the three of them can get on the same page again and start proving that EJ planted those drugs instead of accusing Holly over and over of something she didn’t do and ignoring all the evidence to the contrary.
Thank goodness!

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Sarah will wake up any time soon.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-27-26 only say that Holly and Tate reconcile, so presumably Tate believes the new theory — but there’s no word on Sarah.
She’d better believe the truth, though, so she can stop getting on my last nerve.

Meanwhile, A Bunch of Other Plans Fall Apart
EJ moved up the kidnapping of his sister because he was angry about the walls closing in on him elsewhere. That’s the kind of unforced error he should know better than to commit — it won’t do him any good to make decisions while furious.

That means the plan to switch Kristen with Lexie will likely unravel, too.
Maybe that’s for the best. Maybe Lexie could actually tell Abe and Theo the truth instead of running away to an island and hoping no one looks for her before she passes away.
This Lexie story has been pointless. All it did was ruin Abe’s usually highly moral character before sending Lexie out of his life again.
Kristen may disappear before she can help celebrate that Rachel is home, which seems needlessly cruel — and I’m not even a fan of Kristen!
Meanwhile, Leo and Cat make progress in the search for Gwen, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-27-26 imply that Dmitri kidnapped her to get revenge for her kidnapping him last year.

Finally, Joy has some sort of ridiculous ultimatum for Alex that the spoilers don’t make clear.
I’ve been Team Joy for the most part. Stephanie’s behavior has been incredibly immature and annoying. Hopefully, Days of Our Lives doesn’t ruin that by having Joy do something beyond the pale.
