Ever since acquiring Fox, Marvel now has rights to the household Marvel names that they were previously missing out on, such as the X-Men and Fantastic 4 and while the mutants aren’t anywhere to be found at the moment, this year at the San-Diego Comic Con, Marvel has announced an upcoming Fantastic 4 movie which will be releasing near the end of 2024 and marking the beginning of phase 6 of Marvel content.

However, other than a confirmed title and tentative release date, not much else is confirmed about the movie. The rumors on the other hand are present in abundance, particularly in terms of casting.

One of the more prevalent casting rumors is that Rachel Bosnahan from the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series will be raking on the role of Sue Storm, the girl who has the power to become invisible an make force fields around her.

Rachel is previously known for her work on obviously Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which is coming up on its last season and in addition to that, she has also received a lot of attention for working on projects like House of Cards, The Blacklist, The Finest Hours, Patriots Day, and I’m Your Woman.

Whether the rumor is basically a fancast or it has some weight to it is irrelevant since it seems recently, Marvel has been paying attention to fancasts, the most clear proof being the casting of John Krasinski in the role of Reed Richards AKA Mr. Fantastic, another Fantastic 4 character.

When asked by ET Online whether she would be up to playing the character of Sue Storm in the upcoming film, Rachel showed no hesitation saying, “Absolutely! That would be a blast.”

However, despite being enthusiastic, the actress confirmed that at the moment, the rumors of her casting were just rumors. She said, “I haven’t heard anything, unfortunately, but I’m here, it’s our last season. I’m about to be available.”

The fans seem happy with the choice and so does Rachel so the pressure is on Marvel now to once again, give the fans what they want.
