Olivia Wilde Broke Her Silence On The Viral Moment She

Olivia Wilde addressed being served custody papers from her ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis on stage at CinemaCon.

For context, back in April, Olivia was in the midst of presenting a trailer for Don’t Worry Darling when she was interrupted by a process server handing her an envelope marked “Personal and Confidential.” After looking inside, she simply said, “OK, got it. Thank you,” and continued her presentation.

At the time, a rep for Jason said that he had “no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered … and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.” In alleged court documents since the incident, he reportedly expressed “deep regret” over how things played out.

Now, Olivia discussed the moment in a recent interview with Variety. “It was my workplace,” she began. “In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack.”

“It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen. There was a huge breach in security, which is really scary,” she continued, outlining the numerous protocols attendees had to take in order to have access. “This was something that required forethought.”

“I hated that this nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing,” she said. “To try to sabotage that was really vicious. But I had a job to do; I’m not easily distracted.”

“Sadly, it was not something that was entirely surprising to me. I mean, there’s a reason I left that relationship.”

“The only people who suffered were my kids, because they’ll have to see that, and they shouldn’t ever have to know that happened. For me, it was appalling, but the victims were an 8- and 5-year-old, and that’s really sad. I chose to become an actress; I willingly walked into the spotlight. But it’s not something my children have asked for. And when my kids are dragged into it, it’s deeply painful,” she said.

Amid the split and her new relationship with Harry Styles, Olivia expressed discomfort that her family’s “restructuring and revolution” has become public: “The most painful element of it has been women shaming me for making a decision that was for my own health and happiness.”

As for her relationship with Harry, she added, “I’m not going to say anything about it because I’ve never seen a relationship benefit from being dragged into the public arena. We both go out of our way to protect our relationship; I think it’s out of experience, but also just out of deep love.”
