Dogstar, the recently-revived rock trio featuring the sweet bass stylings of one Keanu Reeves, are gearing up for the release of their first album in over over 20 years, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees. Before it’s out, they’ve shared another single from it called “Breach.”

Earlier this week, Dogstar teased “Breach” on Instagram, notifying fans that it “features a nasty bass solo by KR,” and some lucky folks got to hear that for themselves live when the band performed it during an intimate gig at The Roxy last month.

Reeves isn’t exactly known for making himself the center of attention — not on purpose, at least — so don’t go into “Breach” expecting Flea-like levels of bass slappin’ or anything. Still, it’s heartwarming to see the guy shred through some brief runs. Elsewhere, the track is a pretty solid garage rock tune, and you can watch Reeves get nasty in its music video below.

Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees arrives on October 6th via Dogstar’s own label, Dillon Street Records. They’ll be celebrating its release with a North American tour, which you can grab tickets for here.

Dogstar also recently chatted about their reunion on a new episode of Kyle Meredith With…, which you can also listen to below.
