GWAR have just released a 10th anniversary expanded edition of their 2013 album Battle Maximus, with the crown jewel being the track “Tammy, The Swine Queen.” The previously unreleased song features the final recording from the band’s late vocalist Oderus Urungus.

Battle Maximus was the last GWAR album to feature Oderus (aka Dave Brockie), who died in March 2014, six months after the LP’s release.

Regarding the album reissue and the song “Tammy, The Swine Queen,” GWAR’s current singer Blothar the Berseker commented, “Musically, Battle Maximus is a great debut work by [lead guitarist] Pustulus Maximus, and lyrically, it is the final word of lead singer and band founder Oderus Urungus, The record is run through with the desperate, dangerous, and fully bananas imagination of Oderus.”

He continued, “In fact, this re-release includes a song so nutty we named it twice, and then promptly forgot to put it on the record the first time around. ‘Tammy, Queen of Dirt,’ or, ‘Tammy the Swine Queen’ is the final performance of the maestro of mayhem, Oderus Urungus, and for our fans, it does not disappoint.”

GWAR are about to wrap up a summer tour supporting Mudvayne, but the intergalactic barbarians will hit the road again for their own headlining fall North American outing beginning October 11th in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Tickets are available here.
