Even without a gold medal, Snoop Dogg has been a star of the show at the 2024 Paris Olympics with his wall-to-wall coverage of the games.
Snoop caught up with Michael Phelps to pick up some lessons in the pool from the American swimming icon and 23-time gold medalist in a video shared by NBC Sports on Monday (July 29) .
“Now MP, how does one get fast in the pool?” the rapper asked. Phelps replied, pointing to a few different areas: “Wingspan, lung power.”
Snoop loved what he heard because he felt it described exactly him. “You said wingspan, lung power — I definitely have lung power,” the Dogg said. “Our bodies are similar, Mike, we could be twins!”

The “Gin and Juice” rapper rocked the skull cap and initially didn’t want goggles, but the chlorine quickly made Snoop Dogg change his tune on that front. He also tried out different techniques to improve his push-off launch and various strokes to better himself in the pool, while Phelps — who has 28 medals — glided underwater and looked to be in gold medal form as if it’s still the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
“Mike, you make this look too easy,” an exhausted Snoop said in amazement. “Oh God. As you see, I’m in gold medal condition and he’s still in gold medal condition as we speak. Shout-out to the Phelps family and the team that’s gonna get me some oxygen right now.”
Besides hitting the pool looking for some tips with the most decorated Olympian of all time, Snoop Dogg has been all over the NBC broadcasts as a fan-favorite correspondent, providing coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games.
The 52-year-old has been spotted across the Olympic Village taking in gymnastics competitions, talking with Simone Biles’ mother and even served as an official torchbearer for the United States in Paris.
