Any crossover between K-pop and the K-drama world makes fans excited, and when that includes Jeon Somi and Park Seo-Joon, the frenzy takes the next level. In Jeon Somi’s latest summer single, “Ice Cream,” Park Seo Joon appears in a cream-colored suit holding a card that reads, “Mr. Ice Cream.”
If that does not clear any doubt about whom Jeon Somi is referring to throughout the video, in the next scene, the K-drama star re-appears at the scene with the caption, ‘Jeon Somi’s Ice Cream.’
Park Seo-Joon is currently starring in Jinny’s Kitchen Season 2, and a new episode appears every Friday. So, the star’s surprise cameo on another Friday release that too on Somi’s music video has stunned the fandom.
The excitement of K-pop and K-drama fans has also been reflected in the music video’s massive reception. Within hours of its release, the video garnered over 1.8 million views. The new song also appears on iTunes charts in various countries, including 43 in Hong Kong and 71 in Mexico.
Meanwhile, Jeon Somi has shown a rising success graph in her solo era. Somi’s previous studio album, XOXO, had over 58,933 unit sales within the release week. It stood 6th on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart and 14th on the Billboard US World Chart.
After that, Somi took almost two years to release her new EP, Game Plan. Her 2023 extended play featured the “Fast Forward” title track, ranked at number 5 on the Circle Digital Chart and 10th on the US World Chart.
