Metallica broke attendance records during their two-night stand last weekend at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Along with celebrities like Jason Momoa and John Travolta, notable attendees included a dog by the name of Storm.
The four-legged metalhead was seen at one of the gigs, and when she didn’t leave the stadium with the rest of the fans, she was taken to an animal shelter. A Facebook post by the Animal Health & Wellness Organization reported that Storm was abandoned by her owner at the show, but it turns out that wasn’t the case. Metallica and the husky’s owner, Arizbeth Hurtado, have since explained that Storm snuck out of her house and somehow made her way to the nearby venue, where she took in all the action.
Metallica posted the following on their social media pages: “You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA! Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to @sofistadium and made her way to the gig all by herself. After a full night taking in the show with her #MetallicaFamily, Storm was safely reunited with her actual family the next day.”
The band added, “She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including ‘Barx Æterna,’ ‘Master of Puppies,’ and ‘The Mailman That Never Comes.’ And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the #M72 World Tour. But this dog sure did have her day.”
Hurtado, who lives right across from SoFi Stadium, told the site PetHelpful, “She is home and safe! We learned something new about her… she is apparently a huge Metallica fan who decided to sneak out for the concert!”
Referring to the photo that the Animal Health & Wellness Organization posted of Storm at the stadium, Hurtado remarked, “We were laughing so hard when we saw she was SITTING IN AN ACTUAL SEAT AT THE CONCERT.”
As Metallica stated, fans are discouraged from bringing dogs to a metal show, but humans are welcome to check out the legendary band’s upcoming concerts. Tickets are available here.
