In Cross Season 1, Alex Cross is back, and we’re incredibly excited about it!
Prime Video has picked up Cross, an adaptation of the prolific James Patterson series. It’s a star-studded affair onscreen and off.
As one of the year’s most highly-anticipated series, we’re here to share everything you need to know about Cross and what’s to come.

Is Cross Inspired by the James Patterson Book Series?
Cross is just another in many adaptations of James Patterson‘s popular bestselling crime mystery series about a D.C. detective, Alex Cross.
The series was first introduced in 1993 and has 32 novels that complete the entire series.
It also has two novellas and at least three spinoff books in which Alex’s son, Ali, takes center stage and solves mysteries of his own.

Cross will likely be an adaptation of one of the books from the series, potentially even Cross itself.
However, that’s mere speculation, and we don’t have any confirmation about which novel the series will adapt.

Will James Patterson Be Involves with Cross Season 1?
If you were wary about yet another adaptation of the popular detective, fret not.
James Patterson is heavily involved with the production of this series.
He serves as an executive producer and others associated with James Patterson Entertainment.
If that isn’t exciting enough, Burn Notice‘s Ben Watkins is also an EP and showrunner.
The series hails from Skydance Television, which is also behind Reacher.

What is Cross Season 1 About?
Cross will focus on the central character, Alex Cross, a Metro PD detective and forensic psychologist.
Cross digs deep into the mindsets of killers, suspects, and victims, making him a powerhouse in case-solving.

We can’t think of a better person to helm this series!

Where Can You Watch Cross Season 1?
This crime-thriller series will premiere on Prime Video this fall, making waves and keeping everyone talking.
If you don’t have your subscription to the streamer already, you better get on it now!

How Many Episodes Are In Cross Season 1?
Cross’ entire season consists of eight episodes.
It’s better than the three- to six-episode formula we typically see in crime thrillers and procedurals across the pond.
But it’s shorter than the 10- to 13-episode count that we’ve come to expect with series that premiere on streamers.
Hopefully, Cross will make every second of that eight-count season worth our while.

Will Cross Have a Weekly Release or Full Season Drop?
We know that opinions on this topic can vary.
It’s also been the source of discussion and is often widely debated regarding some of the most successful series.

We’d love for a slower release of this series so we could genuinely savor all the episodes and foster some genuine discussion, but that won’t be the case.
For those of you who love a full-season release to binge at once, you’re in luck!
Unlike Reacher and The Summer I Turned Pretty, all eight episodes of Cross will drop on November 19.

Has Cross Been Renewed?
If you are unsure how much faith the streamer has in this series, let this put you at ease.
Amazon has announced Cross’ second season renewal well ahead of the series premiere.
Not only do we know that the series will be returning for a second season, but we also know who will star alongside Hodge.
The sophomore season will likely revolve around a different book, bringing new cast members.
(John Golden Britt/The CW)
The sophomore season will star Jeanine Mason of Roswell, New Mexico, as Rebecca, a vengeful and ambitious judge.
Scream legend and Good Girls star Matthew Lillard will likely play Lance, a cold-blooded business tycoon.
And Ahsoka‘s Wes Chatham will star as Donnie, who is a far-right military veteran and farmer.
Is There a Trailer for Cross?
Yes, there’s a minute-long trailer to watch, and you’ll enjoy every glorious second of it.
We get a feel for who Alex Cross is and everything he represents.
The very first words uttered are, “Who are you?”
The trailer teases Alex as a doting dad, a great partner, a worthwhile adversary, and, more importantly, a brilliant detective.

We see and hear Ryan Eggold (sporting platinum blonde hair) taunting Cross with everything he knows about this detective whose reputation precedes him.
Raids, car chases, a blazing fire, and other moments suggest plenty of action is in store for us.
And lest we forget that Cross is the King of reading minds, as a suspect declares that Cross won’t be getting inside of his head.

What’s Cross’ reply, you wonder?
“Oh, I’m definitely living rent-free.”
Yes, we’re definitely hyped about Cross!
And we’ll keep you updated with any future developments ahead of the premiere.
