Hit Man is the latest in a series of films that have gone straight to streaming at Netflix, with teeny-tiny theatrical showings that are way too short at best. The Richard Linklater film is built for a room full of popcorn-popping people, and it’s a true shame we didn’t get to witness all of those costumes on a 50-foot widescreen. Certainly, the staggering streaming numbers prove there was an audience for this one. And as fun as this Glen Powell pic is to watch on Netflix, we can’t help but believe it would’ve been even more entertaining to watch with more than just the couch crowd. This was a movie made for the collective audience experience.
It’s not the only Netflix Original movie that deserved a turn at the theater. There are a whole host of straight-to-Netflix pics that deserved a real box-office run.
