Silo is an American science fiction series created by Graham Yost based on the Wool series of novels. Set in a dystopian future where a community exists in a giant underground silo comprising 144 levels. Ten-episode first season began streaming from May 5, 2023.
It received positive reviews from critics, for the world-building, production design and Ferguson’s performance. The first season of Silo was not even finished when Apple renewed the sci-fi show for another volume.
After days of speculation Apple officially announced on June 14, 2023, that Silo was renewed for season 2. Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss revealed in a statement that the streamer believed in the show since the start. This implies that adapting the books beyond the first season was always in the cards but viewership numbers still needed to be good enough to make the commitment, and they have been.
Even though Silo season 2 news only just confirmed its renewal, the release date might come sooner than audiences think. With this in mind, it seems likely that the Silo season 2 release date could hit Apple TV Plus in the spring of 2024.
