The Night Agent is such a big hit for Netflix that it scored an early renewal before Season 2 even premiered!
The action-thriller returned for its second season on January 23, 2025, but before that date was even announced (on November 13), the streaming service renewed it for a third (on October 8)! Read on for everything we know about Season 3, from a potential premiere window to the cast and more.
Where did The Night Agent Season 2 leave off?
To save Rose (Luciane Buchanan) after she’d been kidnapped by the men who wanted to use a deadly nerve agent on Manhattan, Peter (Gabriel Basso) made a deal with businessman Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum) and stole a file for him from the UN. Once the attack was stopped, he turned himself over to Catherine (Amanda Warren), who, at the end of the Season 2 finale, told him about his next mission: When Jacob reaches out, do as he says and gain his trust so he can figure out who’s on his payroll — which seems to lead to the new president. (The file Peter stole led to the other candidate dropping out of the race.)
When will The Night Agent Season 3 premiere?
It’s way too soon to even begin to guess. Season 3 began with a production unit in Istanbul and will return to film in New York in February 2025.
Season 1 was released on March 23, 2023, and the second premiered on January 23, 2025. (Filming on the second began in February 2024 and ran through June.) It’s possible that the third season could premiere in early 2026, rather than there be a nearly two-year gap like between the first two.
Who will be returning for The Night Agent Season 3?
Basso will be back as Peter Sutherland, and it’s hard to imagine Buchanan not returning as Rose. TV Insider did ask executive producer Shawn Ryan about Rose’s future after the Season 2 finale, and all he would say is, he and the other writers “haven’t settled on anything yet that I can share.” It also feels like Warren should be back as Catherine.
Fola Evans-Akingbola (Chelsea Arrington), Ward Horton (Governor Richard Hagan), and Albert Jones (Aiden Mosley) have all been upped to series regulars for Season 3, Netflix announced on January 31.
Who’s joining the cast for The Night Agent Season 3?
On December 13, Netflix announced that David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, and Callum Vinson will be new series regulars. Suraj Sharma will recur. No character details have been released yet.
What’s The Night Agent Season 3 about?
It’s too soon to know. The series, based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, began by following Peter as he ultimately saved the president in Season 1. That led to him becoming a Night Agent himself, which we saw in Season 2. Beyond the tease of his mission at the end of Season 2, it’s hard to predict what else is to come.
Is there a Night Agent Season 3 trailer?
Not yet.
