Nicki Minaj Avoids Million Mansion Being Seized Over Unpaid Debt

Nicki Minaj has avoided losing her $20 million home in Los Angeles after it was at risk of being sold off after the rapper and her husband Kenneth Petty refused to pay a massive debt.

According to a Rolling Stone report published on Thursday, January 22, Minaj has sidestepped the sale with a last-minute deal after the rapper, 43, and Petty, 47, were ordered to pay a $503,000 default judgment to security guard Thomas Weidenmuller who sued them after he was allegedly assaulted at a Germany concert.

“She has satisfied the judgment,” the guard’s lawyer, Paul Saso, told the outlet. “It required us going to the one-yard line.”

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco was set to make a decision on the sale of the $20 million mansion at a hearing on Thursday afternoon, per the outlet.

Nicki Minaj is one step closer to potentially having her $20 million home seized by a man who won a settlement from her after a L.A. judge appeared to side with him, Us Weekly can report. On Monday, November 24, a hearing was held in the lawsuit brought by Thomas Weidenmuller. (Weidenmuller was awarded a […]

Speaking outside the courtroom in a video shared via Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon on her X account, Saso said his client was pleased with the outcome.

“He incredibly gratified, happy. It’s been a long time coming to have justice finally done here but he’s very happy for himself. He suffered a very heinous attack years ago and not only did it take years to achieve the judgement but it then took nearly two years to enforce that judgment,” Saso said.

Us Weekly exclusively reported in October 2025 that Minaj and Petty’s property was at risk due to the massive unpaid debt.

On October 6, 2025 Weidenmuller asked the court to order the rapper’s home to be sold to help him collect on the money owed to him. He was awarded $503,000 from Minaj and Petty in a lawsuit over an alleged assault that occurred while Weidenmuller was working at Minaj’s show on March 22, 2019. Minaj and Petty failed to respond to the lawsuit, which led to the court entering default judgments against the duo in March 2024.

In October 2025, Weidenmuller said Minaj owns an 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom, 11,820 square foot home in Hidden Hills, California. The entertainer purchased the home for $19.5 million in December 2022, according to property records.

Weidenmuller claimed in his motion that the sale of home would provide enough money to pay off the mortgage, liens and his debt.

He pointed out that Minaj has a $13,258,000 mortgage lien on the home and a “$722,151 homestead exemption — together just under $14 million.”

Nicki Minaj is speaking about the man attempting to seize her $20 million Los Angeles mansion in an effort to collect on a $500,000 debt the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty, owe. On Wednesday, October 15, Minaj, 42, posted a series of messages on X about her legal drama with Thomas Weidenmuller. Weidenmuller, who […]

Weidenmuller told the court, “The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million, yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption. That amount is more than sufficient to satisfy the judgment, plus accrued interest and enforcement costs.”

He said the law does not require him to exhaust other collection efforts before asking for a debtor’s home to be sold off. “Here, there is no doubt that the sale of the dwelling would satisfy the entire judgment, with millions to spare,” he said.

Weidenmuller’s lawyer noted, “Although it is regrettable that the extraordinary measure of forcing the sale of Minaj’s dwelling is required, that result is entirely the product of her intransigence in not making payment. Minaj is a global music superstar, estimated to have a net worth of anywhere between $150-190 million, and is reportedly the highest paid female rap star in the world. There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors.”
