Madonna Says She’s ‘Lucky’ To Be ‘Alive’ One Month After

Madonna is thanking her “lucky” stars right now.

One month following her scary hospitalization, the 64-year-old singer took to Instagram on Sunday to post a series of pictures of herself and two of her six children, 26-year-old Lourdes and 17-year-old David. Alongside the photos, she praised her kids for sticking by her side through her health crisis:

“Love from family and friends is the best Medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect. As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference. So did the love and support from my friends.”

She went on to share how she felt very lucky “to be alive” right now, saying:

“If you zoom into this Picture I am holding You will see A Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it. A perfect triangle of Brilliance. Artist who touched so many lives including my own. I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone. Thank you @guyoseary for this gift! And Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work!”

We’re glad to see Madonna is doing well following her health scare! Everyone was certainly nervous there for a while! As you know, the pop icon was rushed to the hospital in June after she was discovered unresponsive in her home in New York. Her manager, Guy Oseary, revealed Madonna was suffering from a serious bacterial infection. It was so bad that she was fighting for her life in the ICU for a couple of days. There were reports she had to be revived with Narcan at one point. Super scary!  Sources claimed that after she was discharged from the hospital, she was too sick to get out of bed!

But now, Madonna seems to be back on her feet! She’s even dancing again! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below!
