Ellen threw us a comeback-worthy smile while reminiscing about SJP’s first-time visit to her show and the heartwarming story about Parker’s boy wanting to be Ellen. Yes, that’s true.

In the clip, Ellen remembered the very first time she met Parker and explained that she had admired her for years, both as an actress and comedian. She would keep records of comedians she loved and Parker was on that list. “I knew quite well who you were,” she said jokingly. “I had a dossier on you.” Classic, right?
But yet, the best part remains! Parker’s son would have heard Ellen’s voice on TV and said, “I would like to be Ellen from now on.” Parker allowed him to either use the name or be called that for a short time. To this, Ellen captioned, “I hope her son still feels the same way.”
Lovey comments started flooding the comment section. One wrote, “SJP is so awesome and such a sweetheart!” and another said, “Ellen was a big part of my early grown-up years… the only show that kept me smiling.” Many were just echoing that sentiment, lamenting how they miss the show.
Not everyone gave compliments. One stated, “There are eight to ten billion people on Earth. Stop splitting up people to make more people.” Okay then. Most were appreciative of Parker’s charm and Ellen’s legacy, though.
Ellen’s throwback wasn’t just a trip down memory lane but also a reminder of how her show has changed millions of lives for the better. This era had a charm of its own, be it through interviews, dance segments, and random acts of kindness. And apparently, Parker’s kid wasn’t the only one wishing to be Ellen.

As for whether the kid still feels the same? Well, if he’s anything like us, the answer probably is yes.
