Diplo Wins Ruling Against Woman He Accuses of Harassment

Diplo has won a ruling in a case against a woman he says harassed him after a sexual relationship that ended in 2020, TMZ reports and Pitchfork can confirm. Diplo had demanded an arbitration hearing against the woman, accusing her of violating a dual restraining order agreement that the pair signed in January 2021. In the new ruling, an arbitrator who considered both sets of arguments sided with Diplo, recommending that the Los Angeles Superior Court award him more than $1.2 million in fees, damages, costs, and expenses.

Back in November 2020, the woman secured a temporary restraining order against Diplo; the following month, Diplo obtained a temporary restraining order against her. There is currently a dual restraining order agreement in place for both parties.

Diplo and the woman also have also filed lawsuits against each other. Diplo, in his lawsuit, accused the woman of stalking, trespassing, and sharing unauthorized nude photos on social media, as well as with Diplo’s friends and family. The woman’s countersuit contains a string of allegations, including sexual battery and gender violence. She said Diplo had also posted retaliatory nude photos of her on social media. Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, denied the allegations. The competing civil cases remain unresolved.

In a statement shared with Pitchfork, Diplo’s attorney Bryan J. Freedman said, “We are all extremely pleased for Wes and his family. What happened here is simple. The arbitrator looked at all the facts. She evaluated the evidence impartially. And justice prevailed.”

Pitchfork has also reached out to the woman’s attorneys for comment.
