Daughtry warn of the dangers of AI on new single

Daughtry, the band led by vocalist Chris Daughtry, have inked a new record deal with Big Machine Records, and have unleashed the new single “Artificial.”

The hard-rocking song warns about the dangers of artificial intelligence, with the singer explaining, “‘Artificial’ is about the potential nightmare that AI could become and the idea that everything and everyone could eventually be replaced, essentially to perfection, and rendered obsolete.”

He added, “However, the heart and soul of humanity and the ability to feel love, sadness, and compassion can never be replaced. While there are plenty of applications where AI can improve our lives and assist in many areas of creativity, I feel it’s imperative that we find a way to protect our musicians, actors, writers, and all creative outlets from being destroyed.”

The new song comes in the midst of Daughtry’s “Bare Bones” US acoustic tour featuring support from Ayron Jones. The outing runs through a September 27th gig in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with tickets available here.

Earlier this year, Chris Daughtry and Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale teamed up to cover Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” In a joint interview, Hale told Heavy Consequence that working with Daughtry was “awesome.”

Hale also praised Chris’ singing abilities, saying, “The fact that Chris cares so much about how he sounds and his voice, it translates into his incredible range and the tone of his voice and his resonance.”
