Ariana Grande Reportedly Parts Ways With Manager Scooter Braun

Ariana Grande has parted ways with her longtime manager Scooter Braun, Billboard reports. Grande and Braun have, for the most part, been working together since 2013, the same year the pop singer released her debut album, Yours Truly. Details about the split, such as which business or management ties are ending, are not yet public, and TMZ and Variety are also reporting that Grande could still be with Braun’s SB Project. Pitchfork has reached out to Grande’s representatives for comment.

J Balvin left SB Projects in May. News broke earlier today that Demi Lovato, who signed with SB Projects in 2019, also departed sometime last month. Rumors that Justin Bieber, whom Braun “discovered” after seeing him on YouTube, parted ways were denied by representatives.

Scooter Braun’s most infamous rift is with Taylor Swift. In 2019, he purchased the master rights to her early albums after acquiring her former label, Big Machine Label Group. That move inspired Swift to re-record her music, resulting in her ongoing “Taylor’s Version” series. The next installment, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), arrives October 27.

This Friday, Grande will release a deluxe 10th-anniversary edition of Yours Truly. The digital reissue will be available on August 25 and the vinyl pre-order begins on August 28. In addition to the original songs from the album, this upcoming anniversary edition of Yours Truly includes several updated versions of the songs that were performed live in London.

Grande’s latest studio album, Positions, landed in 2020. In 2021, the singer paired up with the Weeknd for a remix of “Die for You,” released “Just Look Up” with Kid Cudi, and more.
