Angus Cloud, rising actor and star of HBO’s Euphoria, has died at the age of 25.

Cloud’s family confirmed his death in a statement to TMZ on Monday, July 31st. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

The family said Cloud recently lost his father and “intensely struggled with this loss.”

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” their statement continued. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

According to TMZ, paramedics in Oakland, CA responded to a call of a possible drug overdose. Cloud did not have a pulse and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Euphoria, Cloud played Fezco, Rue’s drug dealer with a heart of gold. Cloud was scouted for the series while working at a restaurant, and Fezco was his first major acting credit.

Cloud’s filmography also included a role in the 2021 dramedy North Hollywood, as well as appearances in music videos by Juice WLRD (“Cigarettes”), Noah Cyrus (“All Three”), and Becky G and Karol G (“Mamiii”).

Additionally, he recently completed shooting Freaky Tales, a new film from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and had been attached to an upcoming Universal monster movie.
