Eddie Redmayne Is an Assassin Hunted by Lashana Lynch in The Day of the Jackal Trailer


Eddie Redmayne is an assassin who is being hunted by Lashana Lynch in the first trailer for The Day of the Jackal.

Peacock has released the first trailer for The Day of the Jackal, a new series that will premiere on the streaming service next month.

What happens in the Day of the Jackal trailer?

The trailer for The Day of the Jackal sees Redmayne playing a highly elusive assassin who is willing to completely transform his look in order to carry out his assignment. Lashana Lynch, who is playing a British intelligence officer, learns about this assassin and then makes it her personal mission to apprehend him.

“An unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal, (Eddie Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee,” the official synopsis reads. “But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.”

Along with Redmayne and Lynch, the series stars Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara.

Ronan Bennett wrote the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Brian Kirk (who also serves as director), Redmayne, Carnival Films’ Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant, Sky Sutdios’ Sam Hoyle, and Sue Naegle. Lynch serves as a co-executive producer, while Chris Hall serves as a producer and Frederick Forsyth as a consulting producer.

The first five episodes of The Day of the Jackal will premiere on Peacock on November 14, 2024. New episodes will continue to drop weekly until a double-episode finale releases on December 12, 2024.
