The rain clears up and they manage to dock the ship behind a large rock. Ryusui sees that Suika stowed herself on the ship. Senku, Kohaku, Gen, and Soyuz comprise the recon team and scout the island. Ukyo notices something on the sonar and asks Ginro to go underwater to check it out. Ginro sees numerous statues and Ukyo realizes these statues were not petrified from their time. Soyuz and Gen reach higher ground to try to contact the crew, but they see everyone on the ship petrified. Suika survives after Ryusui kicked her away.
Soyuz remembers his family was running away from the island when he was a baby. Senku and Gen investigate to find the person behind the discarded seashells. Eventually, they conclude that the person is a young girl who lives in the mountains. After eavesdropping they learn that the girl, Amaryllis, will be brought to a master tomorrow as a bride of the inner palace. Plus, the mysterious master has a way of petrifying people. Senku approaches Amaryllis, who is surprised to see unfamiliar people.
Their group rushes to Amaryllis’ village and sees the men plotting to riot. Senku uses tear gas to incapacitate them, which amazes Amaryllis. Amaryllis tells Senku’s group she knows the secret of the petrification beam and asks them to join her in defeating the master.
