As fashion editors, we’re constantly reporting on the latest trends in the fashion zeitgeist, but how often do we spotlight the trends we’re genuinely excited to dive into ourselves? Not as much as we’d like.
With the arrival of the new year, I decided it was time to tap our amazing team—ranging from the vibrant streets of NYC to the charming landscapes of North Carolina and beyond. I wanted to uncover which styles and aesthetics they’re most eager to embrace in 2025.
While I anticipated some overlap, given that Who What Wear editors typically share similar tastes, I was delighted to find a delightful diversity of enthusiasm for different trends.
If we may say so ourselves, you won’t regret investing in any of our top picks for 2025. So, without further ado, keep scrolling to explore (and shop) the editor-approved trends that have us buzzing for the new year.
Pony Hair
“I’m on the hunt right now for the perfect pony hair jacket (and bag and pair of shoes). This trend has been on the rise for a while now, showing up on the runways at Tory Burch and Michael Kors Collection for fall 2024, but now that winter’s arrived, it’s truly everywhere, and I can’t wait to score the perfect piece.” — Eliza Huber
Peep-Toe Shoes
“The S/S 25 runways of Khaite, Tory Burch, and Miu Miu confirmed that peep toes are going to be a thing in 2025. It’s been a while since we’ve seen this trend, so it feels particularly fresh. So far, I’m seeing mostly peep-toe pumps on the market, but it’ll be interesting to see which other shoe types brands use the peep-toe trend in the coming season.” — Allyson Payer
Powder Pink
“The vibrant and fiery red trend of 2024 was eye-catching, but I’m ready to embrace a softer palette this year. I’m excited about the enchanting powder pink hue that stole the spotlight for spring/summer 2025. This delicate and romantic shade graced the collections of renowned designers like Miu Miu, Alaïa, and Khaite, making it a true standout. What I love most about powder pink is its versatility—it’s perfect for a chic head-to-toe look without overwhelming the senses. Plus, it pairs beautifully with other colors like gray, lavender, black, and white, allowing endless mix-and-match possibilities. I can’t wait to see how this dreamy hue will transform my wardrobe.” — Nikki Chwatt
East-West Bags
“The East-West bag trend is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon—or in 2025 at all. With viral styles like the clutch iteration of Alaïa’s beloved Le Teckel Bag, the Khaite Simona Bag, and Freja’s more approachable-priced Mercer Bag, the oblong shapes are only getting better and more in demand.” — Anna LaPlaca
Sculptural Pumps
“Sculptural pumps have become somewhat of an addiction for me. Once I had my first pair, I just couldn’t get enough. While my closet doesn’t have room for any more shoes, I still enjoy staring at some of my favorite designer pairs that have recently hit the market. It feels like every brand at this point is jumping in on the trend and the best part is that they’re easy to wear. If you want your shoe collection to feel like a work of art, this is how you do it.” — Sierra Mayhew
