You don’t have to look far on your TikTok FYP to know that corsets are trending right now, and if there’s one celebrity we can always count on to rock the latest looks, it’s Rita Ora. The 32-year-old graced the Eurovision semifinal stage in Liverpool on May 9 with her unique take on the sultry style. Wearing a black PVC cone-bra corset with matching knickers, custom-made by Pressiat, the risqué ensemble comprised of multiple lace-up and zip fastenings. Styled by Pippa Atkinson, she added matching fingerless gloves, sheer black tights, and lace-up Sergio Rossi boots.
Ora performed a medley of hits, including her new single “Praising You” — the music video for which she modeled another corset look by David Koma. To begin her performance, floaty fabric was added to create an ethereal effect before it was thrown off for a dance segment. Hairstylist Rio Sreedharan kept her blond hair in waves, and makeup artist Rachel gave her a soft glow courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury.
Ora took to Instagram soon after her performance to post a carousel of photos and added that it was “an honour and a full circle moment” to take to the Eurovision stage. The newlywed, who tied the knot with Taika Waititi last summer, was referencing her 2009 audition to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. She was selected by head judge Andrew Lloyd Webber at the time, but turned the opportunity down. “Hope you loved that as much as I loved performing it. Sending love to everyone watching across Europe and of course, the Ukraine. Stay strong, we all love you ️ #Eurovision2023,” she added on Instagram, in reference to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
This isn’t the first time that the star has made a splash with her out-there looks. At the 2023 Met Gala, she wore a sheer corset dress by Prabal Gurung before going pants-less at the Met Gala afterparty in a black bralette, high-waisted knickers, and multiple belts for a touch of bling. It seems the cone-bra is her particular favorite at the moment, having worn a Richard Quinn cone-bra dress at The Prince’s Trust Gala in April that was serving real Madonna vibes.
