On Friday, Nina Dobrev honored her boyfriend, Olympic snowboarding champion Shaun White, on Instagram. White retired from professional snowboarding on February 10, after placing fourth in the halfpipe competition. Japan’s Ayumu Hirano took home the gold medal, while Australian Scotty James and Switzerland’s Jan Scherrer won silver and bronze, respectively.

Dobrev shared a carousel of images of White, winner of three gold medals at the Olympics across his career.

“I couldn’t be more proud,” she captioned the pics. “Of everything you have accomplished over the last 20 years as a competitor and the man you have become. You are one of a kind.”

She continued, “Today we are celebrating you. Your hard work. Your passion. Your determination. Your talent. Your fearlessness. Your courage. Your soul. Your heart. YOUR LEGACY.”

“You are a true hero and you inspire me daily,” Dobrev added. “The end of one chapter, means the beginning of an exciting new one with endless possibilities.
You will forever be the G.O.A.T. of snowboarding. Not to mention you are also the G.(B).O.A.T. = Greatest Boyfriend Of All Time.”

White got emotional as he was discussing his retirement, saying, “I wanted more today, but I’ll take what I can get. I’m proud. I’ve spent my life [competing]…A lot of emotions hitting me right now. There’s the cheer of the crowd and some kind words from my fellow competitors at the bottom. I’m so happy.”

Dobrev has been supporting White on social media as he competes, sharing photos of them both in Team USA gear and in the snowy mountains.
