Just days after Khloé Kardashian’s son’s name leaked, Kardashian confirmed the moniker herself on the first episode of The Kardashians season 3. Her and ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson’s baby boy, whom they welcomed through a surrogate this past August, is named Tatum. A producer on the show asked her the baby’s name. She responded, via The Sun, “His name is Tatum. So, Tatum and True. Naming a human is really hard.”
Kardashian’s bigger confession was her honest feelings about using a surrogate for the first time rather than carrying her child like she did with older daughter True. After admitting to Scott Disick on the show that she felt “less connected” to her son than True, Kardashian opened up more in a confessional about why.
“I definitely buried my head in the sand during that pregnancy that I didn’t digest what was happening,” she started, via Entertainment Tonight. “I think when I went to the hospital, I think that was the first time that it really registered. I think it has nothing to do with the baby.”
“I definitely was in a state of shock from my entire experience in general,” she said of when she was at the hospital for her son’s birth. “I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and then I take the baby and I go to another room and you’re just sort of separated. I felt it’s such a transactional experience… I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. But it doesn’t mean it’s bad or good. It’s just different.”
