How Meghan Markle Feels About Kate Middleton’s Plan to ‘Extend

Kate Middleton, according to Us Weekly,is keen to play peacekeeper between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Prince William given their strained relationship. The outlet reports that the new Princess of Wales is hoping to help patch up things between the former royal Fab Four while they are all potentially in New York City in December. And Meghan, the source added, is open to the attempt.

“Once Kate and William’s Boston plans are set in stone, she’s planning to extend an olive branch to Meghan in a bid to reunite the brothers and heal the rift,” the source said of Kate.

“Harry and Meghan are knee deep with their hectic schedules, but Meghan is willing to put in the effort as long as dates don’t clash,” the source added. Kate’s motivation to mend things stems from what she believes the late Queen and Princess Diana “would’ve wanted” for the quartet.

William and Kate are visiting Boston the first week in December for the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony. Meghan and Harry, meanwhile, are being honored at the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization’s Ripple of Hope Award Gala in New York around the same time. Us Weekly reported earlier this week that Kate and William wanted to add a quick trip to New York City to their visit, where the four could potentially reunite.

The two want to take “quick trip to New York, where they can enjoy the festivities in the build-up to Christmas,” the source said, adding that Kate is “dying to go ice-skating at the Rockefeller [Center] and shopping for fun souvenirs for George, Charlotte, and Louis.”

In her interview with The Cut, Meghan said that she was receptive toward healing her and Harry’s rift with the family. “I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive,” she said. “But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything.”

In late September, multiple sources told The Mirror, via The Daily Beast, that Kate and Meghan were “not known” to have exchanged words throughout Meghan and Harry’s extended stay in the U.K. following the Queen’s death. The sources added that “any hint of a rapprochement between the couples was ‘very unlikely,’” at that time. December could mark a change…or a continuation of the status quo.
