Britney Spears took to Instagram earlier this week to share a video in which she’s doing some of her signature dance moves. On Tuesday, back home from a trip that included stops in Arkansas and the UK, Spears posted glimpses of her dancing in her at-home studio. The scene starts to get emotional, however, as she begins to shed tears while she’s dancing.
In the video, the 40-year-old pop star wears a white crop top that features a front tie and puff sleeves. She complements the casual ‘fit with a pair of super-short black Nike shorts with the brand’s iconic Swoosh logo on the side. Dancing barefoot, Spears makes it clear that she isn’t ready to give up on her summer style staples quite yet. In the caption, she wrote, “It’s been a while since I’ve cried on camera đ„Č !!! It’s not a breakdown assholes, it’s a release that I’ve needed for a very long time now đ„č !!!”
Though it’s unclear whether the video was filmed on the same day or not, she had posted a similar video featuring her in the exact same outfit days prior. For that video, she wrote a slightly more upbeat caption: “Feeling myself with Justin Bieber.”
Spears has been under scrutiny lately. She is currently feuding with both of her sons and received backlash from a recent fatphobic Instagram post that included a quote attributed to late comedian Rodney Dangerfield: “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.” She has since apologized, claiming she wasn’t “trying to be critical of anybody.”
