Exclusive Hellboy Artwork by Mike Mignola Celebrates 30 Years of Dark Horse Character

ComingSoon can exclusively reveal new Hellboy artwork created by Mike Mignola.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Hellboy, Mignola is collaborating with Dark Horse Direct and curator Eric Garza to produce a Hellboy 30th anniversary screenprint line. The line reproduces some of the most iconic images within the character’s long history in comics.

Mignola has now created a brand-new piece of artwork to complete the line. The artwork, which features colors by Dave Stewart, is available now for pre-order until November 22, 2024.

The Hellboy artwork represents the iconic character’s legacy

The special screenprint is the sixth and final piece of Hellboy 30th Anniversary screenprint artwork.

“While the Seed of Destruction #1, Wake the Devil 1994 Comic Ad, Dark Horse Presents #90, The Corpse and the Iron Shoes, and Pancakes screenprints all reproduce pivotal moments in Hellboy’s history, this final screenprint represents the culmination of the character’s legacy, juxtaposing images of the hero as a child and as the devilish Anung un Rama surrounded by some of his most fearsome foes,” a description of the art reads.

The nine-color screenprint is 24 inches wide and 36 inches tall. It is printed on 100# Cougar uncoated paper and is available for $75.

“For 30 years, Mike has gifted readers with masterful storytelling, unmatched in his ability to convey atmosphere and mood, and to create (or end) worlds through a drip-perfect alchemy of art and story,” Garza previously said of the line, via Fangoria. “Since the very first issue, Hellboy has seamlessly blended elements of horror, pulp adventure, gothic romance, mythology, folklore, and so much more – and often at the same time. However, what undoubtedly sinks its hooks into you first is Mike’s artwork. It is a style without compromise, unmistakably and singularly his own.”
