Kylie Jenner’s Micro Thongkini Is a Bold Take on Barbiecore

Out of all the Kardashian-Jenners, Kylie stays most true to her signature swimsuit style. The 25-year-old beauty mogul and reality TV star is a fan of string or halter-neck designs that usually come with a thongkini bottom, making for a super-cheeky fit. Most of Jenner’s bikinigrams are snapped poolside, whether she’s taking a dip at home or on vacation with friends and family. As far as colors and textures go, Jenner’s not one to stray from an all-black palette, though she’s experimented with patent or metallic finishes. And when she does reach for something vibrant, it’s usually in a bright neon shade. Jenner’s a fan of swimwear labels such as Heavy Manners and her sister’s brands Skims and Good American. She frequently accessorizes a swim look with vintage statement sunglasses and everyday jewelry, like hoop earrings.

Jenner’s most recent thongkini is none other than Skims, a two-piece taffy-pink set in a micro, skin-revealing silhouette. Jenner posted seven total angles of the design on her Instagram feed, captioning her albums, “special energy” and “if you need me i’ll be here” as she emerged from the water.

Prior to this moment, she embraced golden hour in a glitter suit from Good American. And when she traveled to Mexico with her family in February, she switched things up even further, opting for an iridescent blue monokini with large stomach and back cutouts. The maillot featured a high-leg cut, plunging neckline, and just a thin strip of fabric over the bust, which highlighted her underboob, and Jenner layered a nude long-sleeved minidress covered in sequins on top.

While not all the swimwear in her current rotation is quite as flashy, she famously debuted vintage styles back in 2019, including a three-piece Dior ensemble and a graphic-print wetsuit for a ride on a jet ski.
